The Graduate: a pre-Joseph philosophy

19 April, 2023 by Michael G. Reccia

I would agonise each and every week…

I had chosen to take Sunday services at spiritualist churches whenever possible as, rather than offer the congregations wall to wall clairvoyance as midweek services did, these also included a ‘philosophy’ section, which I considered to be the most important part of the proceedings. I viewed this philosophy ‘half hour’ as an opportunity to offer people something to think about; to present them with spiritual concepts they had perhaps not considered before.

Some mediums looked at the philosophy segment an aspect of the service to be quickly skimmed through, and their philosophies were basically the same basic message reheated and served up again each time they visited a church. Others put considerable thought and effort into what was said and worked hard to touch the hearts and souls of their audience.

I regularly sweat blood over my philosophies. I wanted, in those pre-Joseph days, to make each service count, and to leave congregations with concepts they could mull over and take home. ‘If I make them think, I’ve done my job,’ was my personal philosophy. Prior to each service I would take myself off into the countryside or head somewhere quiet, pace up and down and pray – ask that I be given something that would resonate and make a difference in the hearts and minds of those it was intended for.

Sometimes I would stay outdoors for hours until inspiration struck. Sometimes a theme would come to me ‘in a flash’. Uniquely, I would always be given teachings in story form, usually with three separate but linked parts to each tale, and I would memorise these prior to the service (I hate reading from notes).

Jane recently unearthed a whole stack of these stories as hard copies, plus a wad of testimonials and a sheath of notes from the various workshops I used to take. Revisiting these I thought it might interesting to offer, as this time’s ‘long read’ article, one such story from the philosophy pile – inspired by higher vibrations (by the soul group, actually, before Joseph made conscious contact and began to dictate his books through me) and offered here for the first time in at least twenty years.

Ladies and gentlemen – you are sitting in silence in a church, and the medium at the lectern happens to be me. The clairvoyant section of the service has been brought to a close with a hymn. It’s time for a change of gear, for the ‘philosophy’ section… I take a deep breath and begin by saying I’d like to share a story with you all, which goes by the title of:

The Graduate.

…We’ll call him ‘the graduate’ –  a clever and capable man.

Intelligent. Witty. In possession of a recently minted first class honours degree in Graphic Design.

Why, then, we find him wondering, is he still out of work almost two years to the day after leaving university?

It is yet another Monday morning and, as he has done every Monday for the past few months, he finds himself standing outside the Post Office with a meagre amount of currency in one hand, the result of having cashed the weekly benefits cheque that allows him to pay the rent but covers little else.

Stuffing the money into his pocket he walks slowly back up the street towards the block of flats where he lives. Ahead of him, by the side of the road, he can see a man anxiously staring at two flat tyres on a big silver BMW. They have been viciously slashed and the man seems close to panicking. His mobile phone is clamped to his ear but he’s obviously having trouble making the thing work. ‘Come on, come on! Useless piece of junk!’ he growls at the device. The graduate shakes his head in disbelief at the damage to the tyres as he passes by the man. ‘Whatever is the world coming to?’ he thinks.

A little further up the road he arrives at the newsagent’s shop where he sometimes invests in a morning newspaper. The owner is standing outside the shop with his back to him, sweeping shards of broken glass from the payment into a large shovel. The graduate is shocked to discover that the shop’s windows have been smashed during the night, doubtless an act of vandalism, and that pieces of broken glass have showered the interior, contaminating chocolates, papers, soft drinks – every item of stock in the place. He sighs to himself as he walks past. Things in this neighbourhood are going from bad to worse.

A little further up the street the young girl sits huddled in the spot against the wall and on the pavement she has for some months now claimed as her own, and from which she asks passers-by for money. He always avoids the young woman’s gaze as he doesn’t have enough money for himself, let alone a little something extra to give to a homeless person. He feels terrible on her behalf. People shouldn’t have to resort to begging in a civilised society.

As he mounts the steps that lead up to the block of flats where he lives he finds himself inching past the man with the florid face who lives in one of the flats on the floor below him. He is struggling with a large and heavy box that all but obscures his vision and is having difficulty negotiating the double doors of the entrance.

The graduate nods a greeting, rolls his eyes in a ‘what are you going to do?’ gesture and slips by his neighbour who is propping open one of the doors with his back. He trudges up the three flights of stairs that lead to his modest flat, unlocks the door and kicks it shut behind him with his heel. He makes straight for the half bottle of whisky a friend gave him for Christmas, seats himself at the worn Formica table by the window that overlooks the street and pours himself a glass. As he sips the liquid fire he closes his eyes for a moment, mulls over the troubles and problems he’s just witnessed and speculates to himself, ‘There must be somewhere better than this. There MUST be a better place than this!’

Opening his eyes he is shocked to somehow suddenly find himself standing back on the street outside the Post Office with the money from his cashed cheque clutched in one hand. Everything around him is exactly as it had been a few minutes ago. Got to be an hallucination – but it all seems so real. A slim man in his late fifties or early sixties with distinguished-looking, greying hair and wearing a smart business suit walks up to him and asks with a concerned expression: ‘Are you all right? You seem a little disorientated.’

‘I am,’ mumbles the graduate, preoccupied. ‘I know this sounds crazy, but I’ve already done this once… Today, I mean…Been to the Post Office. It seems like a dream.’

‘It’s no dream,’ replies the man. ‘Your wish has been granted.’

My wish? I don’t understand. What wish?’

“You wished for a better place. You longed for a better place than this.’

Reasoning to himself that he must, in fact, have had a great deal more whisky that he remembered drinking, that he must actually still be in his flat at this moment sitting at his table and dreaming, and that he’d better just go along with the flow of the dream and follow its logical course in his mind until he wakes up, he comments, ‘And this is your idea of a better place, is it? Exactly where I was in the first place? How can this be a better place?’

‘ That depends on you. It can be if you’re prepared to make it so,’ replies the man. ‘Come. Let’s take a walk back to your flat.’

The graduate walks warily by the side of the man in the suit until they reach the man with the BMW who is staring at his slashed tyres. Obviously this is a blow for blow replay of earlier events.

‘Didn’t you think to offer him the use of your mobile?’

‘I don’t know him,’ said the graduate with a blank expression. ‘And besides – what makes you think I can afford a mobile on my income?’

The businessman sighs. ‘There’s a ‘phone in your block of flats, isn’t there? You could at least have pointed him in the right direction. I’ll show you how it’s done. Watch and learn.’ And he walks up to the man, sympathises with his plight, asks if he might be of assistance and offers him the use of his mobile phone.

‘Oh, thank you. THANK YOU,’ says the man. ‘My wife’s in hospital and I don’t want to worry her by being late.’ The driver gratefully makes a couple of calls, one to his wife, the other to a garage.

The graduate and the man in the suit continue on up the road until they arrive at the newsagent’s shop. As before, the newsagent is standing outside, sweeping up what’s left of his windows.

‘Didn’t you think to have a word with him? To offer a few words of comfort?’ asks the man. Again, the graduate gives him a blank look. ‘Watch and learn,’ says the man. He walks over to the newsagent and says to him, ‘I think you’re very brave. It must be hard to carry on when something like this has happened.’

‘Third time this year,’ says the newsagent. ‘I wouldn’t call myself brave. Just a matter of having to keep going – wife and kids to support.’

‘Nevertheless, this must have been a difficult morning for you. I’m sorry I can’t help you in any way materially but I will remember you in my thoughts – my prayers, if you like during the day, if that’s all right with you?’

The newsagent’s eyes moisten. ‘I think that’s the nicest thing anyone’s ever said to me, he replies. ‘Thank you.’

‘There,’ says the man in the suit, returning to where the graduate is standing. ‘That wouldn’t have cost you a penny. The only thing you would have had to spend to make him feel better, to make his world a slightly better place, was a tiny amount of your time.’

They walk up to the spot where the girl is sitting on a blanket, knees pulled in to her chest.

‘Now don’t tell me I could have helped her,’ says the graduate. ‘I’ve barely enough money to keep things together myself.’

‘Money isn’t what she needs,’ says his companion, sitting down on the dusty pavement next to the girl.

‘I think you’re very brave,’ he says. ‘You must get a lot of abuse.’

‘No choice, really,’ she replies. ’This is the only way I can make enough money for a bed for the night and something to eat.’

‘How are you feeling today?’ asks the man.

‘I’m not too bad, I suppose’ she replies. ‘Legs are giving me a bit of trouble, but nothing I can’t handle.’

‘I’ve no change to give you, I’m afraid,” said the businessman. ‘But I want you to know you’ll be in my thoughts today. I’ll ask that you get what you need.’ The girl’s eyes moisten. ‘Thank you,’ she whispers.

As they walk onwards the man in the suit says, ‘See? No money required. Just a little of your time… and you have quite a lot of that on your hands at the moment, don’t you?’

They reach the bottom step leading to the block of flats. There, once again, is the graduate’s lower-floor neighbour, struggling with the huge box. It suddenly dawns on the graduate to help the man through the double doors.

‘There’s hope for you yet,’ shouts the man in the suit as the graduate dashes up the steps to hold the double doors open. He lifts some of the file folders, for that’s what the box contains, out of the carton and leads the way up the stairs to his neighbour’s flat.

A grateful neighbour thanks him and asks if he would like to come in for a cup of tea. As he enters the flat he looks down the stairs, expecting to see the man in the suit, but he’s vanished as though into thin air. The two men chat over a cup of tea and the graduate is surprised to discover that his neighbour is an artist. Paintings are stacked up against every wall, and a drawing board sits in an alcove. When he mentions he has a graphics degree his neighbour seems shocked. ‘I’ve been looking for a competent graphics designer to head up the art department of my print company for months,’ he says. ‘I can’t make you rich but you’ll be comfortable, and a couple of years with me should kick start your career.’

As the two men shake hands the graduate distinctly hears the voice of the man in the suit whispering in one ear. ‘…Oh, yes, and I forgot to mention. When you make this world a better place by giving out to it, it gives back to you. With interest.’

The woman’s alarm goes off at 3am precisely as it does every night. She pulls on her slippers and her dressing gown and heads downstairs to the little front bedroom where her husband, who, as a result of a fall from a ladder, has become paralysed from the neck down, needs turning in his bed. Nurses visit to take care of this during the day and right up until ten at night, but at three and seven it is up to her. Somehow she manages once again to turn her husband, who is a big, heavy man, and then returns to her bed to grab a few precious hours sleep ready for the next shift.

She loves her husband dearly, but she feels tired. Very tired. As she lies down, she can’t help saying to herself, half jokingly, ‘Stop the world, I want to get off!’

She closes her eyes for a brief moment, and when she opens them again finds herself not in her bed but, instead, standing on the street in front of her house. It’s light and, from the amount of traffic on the road, she guesses it must be around 8.30 in the morning. The traffic isn’t moving, however. Everything has stopped as though frozen in time. Drivers sit unmoving like tailor’s dummies in their cars. Mothers stand Lon pavements like statues, their hands entwined in the hands of their children, unmoving in mid-step in a frozen school rush. She approaches the nearest mother and waves a hand in front of her face. Nothing. The woman is completely oblivious.

Intrigued and bewildered, she wanders off into the town, still wearing only her nightdress and slippers. She somehow feels drawn towards the railway station as she moves through silent streets of motionless people and, having reached it, she walks under the big archway and out onto the platform.

There, where a train, or at very least metal rails should be, she sees instead a beautiful green, grassy lawn, which slopes gently upwards towards the most beautiful and enchanting landscape she has ever seen. In the distance are purple hills. In the foreground people in luminous coloured robes that seem to sparkle and shimmer in the overall golden light walk between and into striking, classically-styled buildings with fluted columns outside them and marble steps leading up and into them. This is exactly the kind of place she wants to be in. She’s had enough of the world.

purple and white abstract painting

Incongruously, a silver-haired man in a black business suit stands waiting at the point where the platform meets the grass. ‘Mind the gap,’ he says quietly, as she prepares to cross over to the grassy slope. She looks down and sees, between the platform’s edge and the start of the grassy slope, a gap of a few inches, and through it she can see stars twinkling against an inky blackness. ‘So,’ she reasons. ‘This magical land has nothing to do with the earth – nowhere on earth could be this beautiful.’

She hops across the gap then bounds up the grassy slope, rushing past the man in the suit in her haste to enter this special land. Halfway up the slope her body suddenly slams against an unseen ‘something’. It’s as though she has hit an invisible pane of glass or some kind of force field. She is thrown back by the impact and lands on her back on the grass where she lies dazed as the man in the suit runs up to her. ‘You’ll have quite a bump on that tomorrow,’ he says, pointing to her forehead.

She ignores him, gets up and once, twice more attempts to enter the beautiful landscape, each time being pushed back by the invisible barrier.

‘Well, how does it feel to have had your wish granted?’ asks the man.

‘I don’t understand,’ she says.

‘You wanted the world to stop. You wanted to get off. Your wish has been granted.’

‘Well, yes…’ she says, a little shocked. ‘I just wanted to go somewhere better… Somewhere just like this, in fact,’ she adds, pointing to the wondrous scene in front of her.

‘And so you shall, one day,’ he says. ‘But not today. Not by stopping the world. And not by getting off. …You see, the one leads to the other.’

‘I don’t understand,’ she repeats.

‘You came to earth as a soul to learn,’ says the man. You needn’t have done – we didn’t want you to… but here you are. I know present circumstances are difficult for you and your husband, but those circumstances are leading directly to this place for both of you. You see, in order to enter into this heightened state of reality, your vibrations as the spirits you really are need to become quicker, need to ‘speed up’, so to speak, to become more refined, and they are doing that whilst you are on earth as a result of you facing and overcoming challenges; as a result of you learning from your experiences. That is why you find yourself in your current circumstances. They are not around you by accident or coincidence. They are around you because you stand to benefit by negotiating your way through them. They are not a punishment from God – they are this life’s golden opportunities to become more than you were when you began your life here. Don’t ever wish that you could stop the world and get off. If that happened it might take a much longer time for you to enter this paradise and the ones that lie beyond and above it.

‘Through your choice in coming back here, the earth has become your gateway, your schoolroom, a means of returning to glorious realities in other, higher vibrations. So be brave. Go back and tend to your husband as you have done thus far with love. Let’s start the world again and resolve to go on with renewed vigour. And one day the gates to this place will open for you. And when you step through them on that day this world will stop – not for everyone, just for you – and a whole new adventure will begin.’

She thanks him and closes her eyes. Opening them again she finds herself back in her bed. The vision of the beautiful place she has seen remains with her through her sleeping hours and when it is time to get up and turn her husband again her heart feels so much lighter.

* * *

– She stares blankly at the photographs in her hand as the private detective’s car disappears down the street. They confirm her worst fears. Her husband is having an affair. The glossy ten by eights, which are date-stamped, show him leaving some strange woman’s house on the morning when he had told his wife he was away on a business trip. They show him kissing the unknown woman.

Tears begin to run down her cheeks. She sits at her kitchen table and sobs uncontrollably. Her mascara runs and her hair becomes matted with moisture. She sits there for an age, shaking and becoming more and more depressed until, finally, she declares from between clenched teeth, ‘I wish I was dead. I wish I was dead!’

She closes her eyes in despair, and when she opens them again, finds she is no longer sitting at her table but, inexplicably, is standing with a group of mourners watching a coffin being lowered into the hole in the ground which has been prepared for it.

‘Well,’ a man in a black suit standing close to her enquires softly, ‘How does it feel to have your wish granted?’

‘What?’ she cries.

‘You wished you were dead,’ he says, gesturing to the coffin. ‘And now you are. Behold your mortal remains. How does it feel?’

‘What?’ she says. ‘I… I was upset. It’s just a turn of phrase.’

‘One with serious consequences,’ says the man. ‘I know it must have seemed like your world had ended, but it hadn’t… So much that was positive was to have come to you in future. …Of course all that is now irrelevant…’

‘So much that was positive? In my future? I don’t see how.’

‘Well,’ says the man. ‘I’m not supposed to do this, but I suppose it can’t hurt… now that you’re dead and everything. Come… I’ll show you a little of what might have been.’

He takes her by the hand and suddenly she finds herself standing not by a coffin but, instead, on a soft carpet in a pleasant lounge in someone’s pleasant house. A kind-looking man in his fifties sits on the sofa watching television. It’s obvious he can’t see either of them. A woman comes through from the kitchen and sits next to him as he reaches for his mobile. Somehow she seems familiar.

The man selects a number and a sweet-looking girl picks up the ‘phone at the other end. The woman can’t understand how she can possibly see both the caller and the person at the other end of the call at the same time. Perhaps it’s because she’s dead.

The girl is obviously the couple’s daughter. She laughs and jokes with them and the scene is one of near-perfect family harmony. The woman takes in the girl’s features and, in amazement, turns to the man in the suit and says, ‘But that’s me, isn’t it?’

‘Close,’ laughs the man. ‘Actually she’s your daughter… or would have been, had we not granted your wish.’

‘But if that’s my daughter, then the woman on the sofa must be…’

‘Yes,’ said the man in the suit. ‘Don’t you recognise yourself? A few grey hairs, but I think you’ll agree you’re still a respectable looking woman.’

‘But if that’s me,’ reasons the woman, ‘then the man sitting next to me is…’

‘Your future husband, yes’ he replies. ‘Everything in this life changes. No situation is permanent on earth. The circumstances you found yourself in today were tough, but they would eventually have moved aside. They had something to teach you and your present husband, and when you’d learned valuable soul lessons from them they would have disappeared and your path would have led directly to this man, this home and your future daughter. Pity you’re dead. Now you’ll never meet him or give birth to her…’

For the second time that day the woman begins to cry, until the man smiles gently, touches her on the shoulder and says, ‘Fooled you! Forgive me…You’re not really dead. I just wanted to point out to you the folly of wishing you were. Now please go back to your life and remember all you have seen today. Your future is there for you if you just keep on keeping on. Be brave. Trust in God. Things will change.’

And she opens her eyes to find herself back at her kitchen table, still clutching the photographs. The pain is intense but, as she remembers where she has been, what she has seen, not quite as intense as it had been before. After all, there is a bright new future out there somewhere just waiting for her to walk into it.

 * * *

– Ladies and Gentleman, we all, at one stage or another in our lives, say things like:

‘There must be a better place than this.’

‘Stop the world, I want to get off!’

or even

‘I wish I was dead!’

Let’s take these one at a time:

‘There must be a better place than this.’

Yes, there are lots of places that are better than this one in the spirit realities but through our own choice we find ourselves HERE at the moment, and one of our duties as spiritually-minded souls is to work to make the place we are living in the ‘better place’ we would all like it to be, by treating others with respect and with love. By being helpful, peaceful, considerate, compassionate people.

‘Stop the world, I want to get off!’

Do we really want to stop the world and get off? Not if we want to progress to the worlds beyond this one, we don’t. We are here on this planet, through our own choice, presented with opportunities to grow and to evolve as the spirits we really are, and we are progressing as spirits by facing and overcoming the challenges along life’s path. We have placed ourselves in school. We are taking exams, if you like, and the outcome of those exams determines where we graduate to next.

‘I wish I was dead!’

Do we really? No, we don’t… or we shouldn’t. Everything passes, including the hard times you might be going through at the moment. Those ‘hard times’ are there for a reason, and that reason is not to pull you down, not to make you feel so bad about life that you don’t want to carry on, but to lift your soul up, to elevate your vibrations so that, when you return to your spiritual home, you will have earned the right to live a little closer to your God, both in mind and in location.

So…what of the man in the business suit? A guardian angel, perhaps? A spirit guide, maybe? Our Higher Self, certainly. He represents the guidance and protection we have access to throughout our lives if we actively seek it. The voice from within, from the heart, that encourages us through the difficult times. The adviser and protector when the path becomes rocky. The assurance us that our life is not only worthwhile, but is a golden opportunity to give out and to take in Divine Light. To become more than we were when we first incarnated here. To make the most of and get the most out of a journey we instigated and therefore have to see through, but which, if travelled wisely, not only leads back to our true home but places us further along the unfolding path to infinity and bliss.

Re-dedication: Transforming objects, situations and our world using Light-Energy and Intent

22 March, 2023 by Michael G. Reccia

Before we begin our examination of the amazing transformational combination of spiritual Light-energy and spiritual Intent that each of us is capable of harnessing as a force for good, both in our own lives and also for the benefit of others and our whole world, we first need to get ‘up close and personal’.

What I mean by this is that, as a lead-in to the main focus of this article, we need to consider the ability of objects – all objects – to ‘record’ and hold onto energy patterns; that is to retain a replay-able ‘history’ of the vibrations …particularly the powerful, emotionally-charged ones that they have been subjected to and impressed with during their ‘life’… and to affect us, positively or negatively, as a result – and in order to do this we need look no further than our own homes and the everyday items they contain.

You may not have considered this before (and there’s no reason why you should have from the viewpoint of a busy physical life) but from a spiritual perspective and on a personal level you might be surprised to learn that every object you surround yourself with, big or small… everything from your house to your car to your armchair to your bed clothes to your favourite mug to the jewellery you wear – every single thing you come into daily contact with and regularly interact with ‘absorbs’ from you a degree of the dominant vibrations you generate and expose it to during those times when it is associated with you.

Your wristwatch, for example, being in touch-contact with your skin day and night, acts as a psychic receptacle for the gamut of emotions and mood changes you experience every single day of your life (please don’t feel bad if the preceding sentence rings a bell, we all function as transmitters and receivers of a rollercoaster of emotions and reactions daily – but that’s a whole other story – stay tuned for a future article). This explains why psychometry works – the term referring to the fact that a competent psychic or medium can ‘pick up’, by holding and psychically reading an object such as a watch or a ring or some other personal item, something of the history that has been unknowingly poured into that item by its wearer.

And we don’t just imprint those objects that are closest to us with a record of our interactions with them. As spirits we also contribute, day and night (whether we are aware of doing so or not) to the collective Field of human consciousness, meaning our dominant beliefs, our expectations, our emotionally-charged viewpoints, radiate outwards from us to feed and empower that sentient collective thought-deposit, helping to shape, maintain and reinforce the ‘reality’ we experience around us daily. Each of us, for the most part unknowingly, influences society and helps determine our shared global experience here just as surely as we affect the objects, we come into close physical contact within our personal worlds. We sub-consciously instil into the very fibre of the physicality we perceive around us – our cities, our towns, our buildings, our transportation systems, our technology, etc., core vibrational ‘themes’ that determine what will be reflected back to us collectively as our lives unfold.

As a somewhat humorous, small-scale example of a manifestation this phenomenon let’s consider for a moment the ‘Friday Afternoon Car’, the term always being applied in a derisory fashion. ‘Friday Afternoon Car’ refers to a car that is nothing but trouble and is always breaking down or causing problems… a vehicle that has likely been hastily assembled on a Friday afternoon by workers who are eager to begin their weekend break, having just visited the pub for a pint and some grub at lunchtime; workers who can’t wait to down tools at the end of their busy week and go home.

The inference is that a ‘Friday Afternoon Car’ will have been put together in a hurry without due care and attention, and that its assembly will have been viewed by the workers involved as a process that needed to be rushed through as quickly as possible to allow their weekend to begin, rather than as a commitment to producing a superior, top quality, highly-efficient vehicle. On a physical level such a car is destined to be unreliable as a result of its half-hearted construction history, but additionally, on a spiritual level the car will also have absorbed the vibrations of frustration, impatience, boredom and indifference infused into it as it was being put together with reluctance… dominant imprints of energy that will then determine how it performs and how reliable it proves to be, this initial negative infusion from those involved in its creation subsequently being reinforced and magnified via the reactions of the car’s owner(s) each time the vehicle lets them down.

Now please hold onto the thought for a moment that, to a lesser or greater degree, all physical objects act as receptacles for and recorders of our dominant vibrations – those we pour into the objects around us and those we donate to collective reality.

We next need to consider the longevity of those imprinted vibrations. Just how long do they remain inherent within any given object for? How long are they able to pass on their history to us? Does the intensity and influence of their stored vibrations decrease as time passes? Do those vibrations exist as a permanent record that is ‘set in stone’ within an object, or is there something we can do to erase any ‘negative’ recordings we come across and replace them with vibrations that are much ‘friendlier, much ‘kinder’, and of far greater value to ourselves and to humanity?

And these questions lead us to the two spiritual attributes that are the main focus of this article – properties you and I can access and activate whenever we wish to transmute inherent unhelpful vibrations and rededicate objects and situations so that they exude a far more beneficial expression of energy; these being: Light and Intent.

Let us remind ourselves at this point that in reality we are each a spiritual being – each an angelic, highly creative facet of the Divine – and, as such, and in the higher vibrational realities that exist beyond this one, we use Light-energy as a tool to give shape to our wishes, to translate our thoughts and concepts into form. For example (and Joseph puts this far better than I can in his book Revelation) if I wish to create – say – a chair in the spirit realms, I first imagine the chair I want to create. Having arrived at a clear picture of the type of chair I want – its form, texture, shape, etc., I then project that vision ‘outwards’ from me, automatically activating the Light-energy around and within me, which then works in harmony with my Intent, drawing particles of Light from the ether around me and coalescing those particles into the chair I wish to create; causing the chair to appear in my world in solid form. My Intent has been to bring forth a specific object, and that Intent, working hand in hand with the Light-energy available to me as a spirit, has given the subject of my imaginings – the chair – substance and form. When I no longer need the chair I simply deconstruct it in my mind via a wish for it to be reabsorbed into the overall energy field around me and it is collapsed and returned to ‘nothingness’ so that the Light particles that brought solidity and form to it can be ‘recycled’ and used again to create something new.

Because of the effects of the Fall, (Joseph has a vitally important book dedicated to this subject, which is highly relevant to our troubled times, and I highly recommend you take the time to listen to the entire book for free on our YouTube channel the Joseph Communications) vibrationally speaking it is difficult for us to erase the negative ‘recordings’ we no longer want to influence us on Earth and which have been absorbed by all manner of objects, big and small, around us. Objects hold onto and amplify the vibrations we’ve infused them with in the past as we reinforce them via similar thoughts generated in the present. Globally society holds onto and further consolidates its collective beliefs, which for the most part tend to be negative.

The title of this article is Rededication for a reason, however, because, by using the same Light that we create with in the spirit realms, that is also readily available to us as spirits on Earth; and by infusing that Light with Intent, we can transform and eradicate accumulated negative vibrations in objects and situations and replace them with a ‘fresh start’, with clean, new, pure, spiritual core-vibrations which emanate only harmony and love.

I well remember in my neophyte mediumship days while in Austria researching a holiday brochure I would subsequently write (I must stress that this brief recollection comes from a period which almost feels like my pre-history now… a time when I had only the most basic grasp of spiritual concepts – I was still learning) chatting with a distressed young lady who at the time had a similar spiritual understanding to my own The lady shared with me that she had had a particularly hard time for some years and felt that a ring she was wearing that she had kept because she liked it but which had very negative past associations for her seemed to somehow be contributing to – exaggerating – her ongoing troubles. In discussing all this we made up our minds between us that the ring needed to go. We eventually decided to throw it into a river, and to allow the cleansing effects of running water to neutralise it. Having dropped it from a bridge and watched it disappear into the turbulent waters below the lady in question seemed relieved and much happier over the duration of what remained of a holiday for her and an assignment for me.

On my return home I related this encounter to Joan, my spiritual teacher. ‘Why on Earth did you throw it away?’ she asked. ‘You could simply have rededicated it with water, Light and prayer and she’d have had no further problems with it!’

…Whoops.

A misstep, in that the ring needn’t have been discarded, but an example of how simple it is to transform objects that appear to be giving out problematic vibrations. I should also emphasise the power of water as a ‘co-worker’ with Light and Intent, because used in conjunction with ‘the big two’ it acts as a cleansing agent, severing the accumulated vibrations and wiping the absorbed history of any object.

A further small example: many years ago, I bought a second-hand, fancy-looking red glass vase because I thought it would look great at the top of my stairs on the small table under the window.

It did.

Trouble was that every time we crossed paths my mood plummeted inexplicably and I went to bed feeling depressed and uneasy. Determined to get to the bottom of this I talked it over with Joan and, laying a hand on the vase, I physically tuned in, read its history and discovered it had once belonged to decidedly mean and bad-tempered individual who had been extremely controlling and cruel with his daughter.

What to do? I liked the vase but loathed its ‘attitude’. Joan suggested I fill my sink with water, immerse the vase in it, wash it thoroughly then place my hands on it and visualise white Light pouring out of them and into the object, at the same time consciously rededicating the vase in the name of the Light and the Divine. I did this, dried the vase off, popped it back on the small table, and from that time onwards it gave me no trouble at all.

Now, let’s extrapolate from these personal, small-scale examples and consider the bigger picture. Light plus Intent leads to positive spiritual transformation on all levels. Light plus Intent is just as capable of eradicating and transforming negative vibrations globally – no matter how seemingly insurmountable they appear to be – as it is of changing the recorded vibrations of a simple glass vase or a finger ring. In fact, Light plus Intent is one of the most powerful agents for positive change we can call on to transform our world and our perspectives; to infuse what is so wrong today with an irresistible compulsion to put things right, to do the right thing in all circumstances, to consider, honour and respect every soul, every life on our planet…

Which leads me nicely to the World Meditation Alliance. Weekly, both in person at the Sanctuary of Healing based in Lancashire, UK, and globally via Zoom links, World Meditation Alliance members use a combination of Light and Angelic Intention to distribute vibrations to humanity that are filtered down from higher spheres of consciousness with the intent of putting us back on track and reuniting us with our spiritual heritage. Acting as conduits for the vibrations of each Angelic Intention, received as a set of instructions from a key member of Joseph’s soul group, and wrapping those intentions in Light-energy, WMA members unify weekly as a united global family to make available to the greater family of all humanity specific high-level vibrations that can transform and replace the negativity we witness around us daily, restoring harmony, love  decency, spiritual connection and spiritual awareness to our experience here.

WMA members need have no previous experience. Each meditation session is guided, so all that is required is an acceptance of a greater power in our world and our lives, a desire to see positive, uplifting change take place globally and a willingness to give a little of our time to make a big difference. If you’d like to join us, you can sign up on the World Meditation Alliance website.

So… and to sum up, without them being consciously aware of doing so, the objects around us are constantly active, absorbing and ‘playing back to us’ our dominant vibrations on both a personal and a global scale. Strong emotions infuse and affect objects particularly, and as we currently live in a world that leans more towards the negative than the positive, a great many of the recordings that influence us and colour our perceptions of this reality to a greater or lesser extent, dependant on our levels of psychic and spiritual awareness, are less than helpful.

We can rededicate any negative emanations from the objects around us and also the dominant trends of society, however, by using a combination of spiritual Light-energy and Intent to infuse all aspects of our experience here, and the field of human consciousness itself, with vibrations that contribute only love, peace harmony and positivity to our lives and the lives of others.

And, for those of us who feel moved to do this on behalf of all life here and the planet itself on a regular basis, the World Meditation Alliance offers connection to a family of like-minded souls that would be delighted to add you to its growing numbers.

Light plus Intent  – it’s a simple equation, but a powerful combination that can add up to a whole new, better world for us all if we decide to take advantage of and work with the opportunities it offers us.

Free eBook: Uninvited Passengers & What To Do About Them

8 March, 2023 by Michael G. Reccia

This piece was originally conceived as a one-part article for the Joseph Communications website. However, in the writing of it, it quickly became apparent that there was far too much information to shoehorn into the confines of a single offering. The following is a compilation of the resulting three-part article the piece evolved into, born of a desire to do the subject justice and provide the reader with sufficient insights and techniques for their protection and wellbeing. Here, then, is the complete ‘Insights and Inspirations‘ three-parter presented in PDF format so that it can be referred to often and the techniques it spotlights can be incorporated into daily ‘spiritual protection routines’.

Insights and Inspirations 7: ‘Uninvited passengers’ – and what to do about them (Conclusion)

1 March, 2023 by Michael G. Reccia

A new series examining aspects of spiritual life you may not have considered before.

Part Seven: ‘Uninvited passengers’ – and what to do about them (Conclusion)

(Author’s note – This time we conclude our continuing examination of the unseen negative forces we can all at times fall foul of without us being consciously aware of their existence. If you haven’t read the initial part of this article – Insights and Inspirations Part Five – I highly recommend you do so to bring yourself up to speed on the topics this instalment will cover before continuing here).

It felt like Groundhog Day. I had drawn the church service to a close with a short prayer and then could see – and I didn’t need to be psychic to predict that this would happen – that the path between me and the medium’s room, where a much-anticipated cup of tea and some biscuits lay waiting, had become blocked due to the sudden formation of a queue of people, eagerly waiting to ask me questions. Sigh! No rest for the wicked!  In amongst the crowd stood two teenage girls. Pale-faced. Wide-eyed. Almost, but not quite, shaking. What was my advice regarding ouija boards? they nervously asked me. Were they safe?  Were they dangerous?

I open with the Groundhog Day reference because the above was by no means a unique occurrence. I’d spoken to individuals on numerous occasions regarding this self-same subject following other services in other churches, and in each case their questions were almost identical: Ouija boards. …What did I think of them? What did I recommend regarding their use? Were they good or bad things?

This lead-in to the concluding part of our investigation into ‘uninvited passengers’ – into some of the unseen negative forces that can latch onto us and affect us adversely and what to do to make sure they don’t – begins with an appropriate subject, as we shall see, and I have a single word of advice for all and everyone regarding ouija boards:

…DON’T.

You wouldn’t leave your door open and unlocked at night, would you, then go to bed hoping you were safe in your home? Similarly, and as an analogy, on the basis of a single telephone call to someone you had never spoken to before, you wouldn’t invite that person, without knowing anything at all about them except that they ‘seemed nice’ on the phone, into your life from that point onwards …trusting them to advise you on the course of your life by them predicting for you things concerning your future that may or may not be accurate and helpful (which could also apply to the ‘facts’ they are asking you to believe as to their identity)?

You see, the first – the golden – rule in protecting yourself against unseen and uninvited passengers is: don’t ever invite them in. Many neophyte spiritual seekers make the mistake of looking for the initial ‘thrill’ of connecting with a discarnate spirit or spirits and becoming the focus of their attention and the recipient of help and guidance from ‘beyond’. In hoping to establish such a connection via a ouija board, you have no idea who might be on the other side of the open-ended ‘call’ you are attempting to make …who your unseen contact really is …what their true motives are. There is, however, one thing you can be absolutely certain of: they are not communicating with you from a high spiritual sphere or from an evolved state of being – because, if they were, they would get in touch with you ‘via the proper channels’ and would have no need of a ouija board. So, it’s a big NO to the use of this seductive little occult instrument (believe me, I’ve seen more pale and frightened faces than I care to remember, and could tell you tales regarding communication via ouija boards that would make your blood run cold). Similarly, and in seeking spiritually, never, ever, without first going through the proper channels, stare in excited anticipation at the ceiling of your living room and ask is there’s anybody there, hoping to attract into that room a highly evolved guiding influence… And never, ever ask for physical proof that a discarnate someone is around you – ask them to move something, for example – because, as a result of doing so, you just might find out that someone is there and they’re not ‘a someone’ you would want in your home… Poltergeist activity, anyone?

In using the phrase ‘going through the proper channels’ I’m referring to making a regular connection with – and, therefore, being on the receiving end of protection from – the Divine-within. Before undertaking any spiritual work or, indeed, before simply setting off on your usual physical and mental journey through each new day, it is essential that you actively align yourself with the highest and the best – with the God-within, with the Divine energy you came from and are a part of and which, if invited to do so (you have free will, remember) can and will surround you in love and Light and ensure no harm comes to you and that any potential ‘uninvited passengers’ are unable to sneak on board.

Which brings us to the related subject of motive. Your motive in seeking unseen spiritual connections also acts as your protection. You have to be honest with yourself as to what you are hoping to achieve from your ongoing journey of spiritual discovery. What do you intend to do with any spiritual knowledge you will gain as a result of setting out on that journey? Is your quest for spiritual knowledge focused solely on yourself and your needs or do you intend to also use it to help elevate others; to work to lift all humanity and all life here into the Light? Your initial, core question… one that requires a stripped-bare, honest response, has to be: why do I want to develop spiritually?

OK – the fact that you’re reading this, that you’re visiting the Joseph Communications website right now, means it’s almost certain you’re not just interested in receiving message after message from departed friends and family but are seeking a higher level of spiritual input. You are a spiritually-minded; a seeker for the right reasons… but in and of themselves these qualities are not guarantees of your protection. You also need to be aware of the potentially negative implications of your development journey as, in earnestly desiring to help all humanity, in selflessly seeking to share spiritual truths and insights and Light with as many souls as you are able to bring such uplifting energies to, you are ‘sticking your head above the parapet,’ as it were, and as a consequence of doing so can become a target for the ‘uninvited passengers’ you are reading this article in order to learn how to avoid. Not only that, but as the heart-Light you emanate grows ever brighter, ever stronger, it will become a beacon that can be easily and clearly seen by the unseen – enlightened or otherwise.

– Catch 22, as the saying goes.

Lighthouse on a cliff near seashore

So… what to do? You wish to progress spiritually and you have the right motivation but, of course, you want to remain protected as you’re doing so. The key to personal spiritual enlightenment and being able to share that knowledge with others to maximum effect whilst keeping yourself ‘passenger-free’ is to build into each of your days safety routines that become second nature to you, and to have to hand certain practical ‘fixes’ that can rapidly re-energise you and put you back on course should you find you have been adversely affected by the heaviness of the material world, the Field of human consciousness, the thoughts and actions of others, and negative unseen influences.

Here are a few procedures you might like to incorporate into your day which can help you do just that:

1. Waking Dedication. On awakening each day, make a connection with the God-within your first priority. Before you get out of bed, spend a few moments affirming that the inner power and wisdom of the ‘big two’ – the Divine-within and your Higher Self – will guide, inspire and protect you during your day ahead. Thank the Divine and your Higher Self in advance for doing so.

2. Regularly check yourself for ‘uninvited passengers’. If your mood suddenly and inexplicably nosedives at some point in your day and/or your energy levels bottom out, and this is not as a result of a physical need for food or rest, take yourself away somewhere quiet (this can be the established peaceful meditation spot in your home or the rest room if you are at work) then calmly check yourself psychically for feeders (with practice you will be able to sense and see these attached to your major chakras), dealing with any you might discover as Joseph advises in the first two parts of this article.

3. Ask yourself, ‘Is it me or is it someone else?’ Depressions, dark moods and overwhelming feelings of sadness suddenly coming over you for no apparent reason can mean that someone you have connections with is in trouble or has a problem that is pulling them down; that they are currently thinking in your direction and/or you are picking up their depleted thoughts and mood. As spirits we are each transmitters and receivers of energy and, as you progress spiritually, you will find yourself becoming increasingly sensitive to the unseen connections that can reach you and impact on your consciousness. Ask yourself in such circumstances: ‘Is it me?’ And, if you sense that it isn’t, ask the Divine-within to reveal to you the source of the negative cloud that has settled over you – ask to be shown who the person is that has made a mood-altering connection with you. As a result of asking this, you will find that someone you know either phones you, emails you or turns up on your doorstep, or that you have an overwhelming urge to contact someone you know. Once you have been contacted by or spoken to the person concerned, your mood will rapidly lift to its usual setting – meaning you have identified the source of your remotely influenced mood-crash.

4. Check yourself for ‘filaments’. The ‘psychic vampirism’ you can be subjected to and which is detailed in the preceding instalment of this article can sometimes be difficult to deal with, not because you are incapable of doing so, but because some of the souls unknowingly taking your energies may turn out to be close friends or relatives going through a hard time, or other people you care about and wish to help and strengthen. You have to be able to ‘live to fight another day’, however – you can’t help someone you care for tomorrow if they are unconsciously draining your energies today via an undetected filament of energy that is linking you to them and allowing your energy to constantly flow along it and into them. Remember to regularly look for and disconnect such energy links using the methods outlined in the last instalment. You’re not being cruel in doing this… you’re maintaining your energies at optimum levels so you can continue to help those around you from a position of strength and health.

5. Become a living mirror. There will be times when you find yourself unable to pinpoint the origins of your suddenly heavy feelings and plummeting mood and rid yourself of them. This is hardly surprising as we make countless psychic connections in our daily lives with those we know, plus connections with those we don’t know, also picking up – sensing and being affected by – underlying dominant trends in the Field of human consciousness. As an example, during the course of a single day I can be subjected to the thoughts of a great many people because of the higher-than-average profile of the Band of Light – putting itself out in public as it does via videos and articles such as this one, etc. As a result, we are recipients of both the kind thoughts of individuals who support what we do, and also the less-than-benevolent emanations of individuals who don’t agree with Joseph’s viewpoint, and who become a little ‘needled’ each time we put out something new. Those resentments reach me/us psychically and we have to be mindful and take care to keep ourselves free of them.

One way to do this is to visualise yourself as being within the silver bell jar mentioned in the last part of this article, then to ‘mirror’ its outside surface in your imagination, so that all thoughts reaching you are reflected away from you by this invisible barrier.

6. Make your home a house of mirrors. My good friend, Meria Heller, with whom I co-host the Bigger Picture radio show every two months, suggested that we can also do this with our homes, again using our imagination to first of all visualise encasing them on all sides within a ‘steel’ frame, then to place mirror surfaces, facing outwards on all sides of this frame, effectively making our homes a fortress within which we are safe and protected from all negative influences and intentions. This is a very beneficial exercise to do at night before sleeping.

7. Return to Sender. We don’t have to take on board – to accept – incoming negative influences simply because they intend to attach to us. Sometimes we will know we are under attack but won’t know where that attack is coming from. In such cases, a quick and effective remedy is to simply become quiet and say: ‘Thank you for the gift of your thoughts. However, I have no need of them on my journey, and so, with love, I send your gift back… I return it to you.’

– Negative influences… A vast subject – but I hope I’ve been able to share with you some effective methods of ridding yourself of ‘uninvited passengers’. In closing, I would wholeheartedly encourage you to ‘keep on keeping on’. Please don’t become discouraged simply because I’ve pointed out some of the pitfalls you can encounter on your journey of spiritual development. I bring them to your attention to make you aware of them, to give you the means of protecting yourself, and to help you maintain buoyancy and positivity as you continue to unfold the wonders, delights, peace, fulfilment and life-enhancing perspectives that are to be found in seeking and connecting to higher realities and the Divine-within.

Insights and Inspirations 6: ‘Uninvited passengers’ – and what to do about them (continued…)

22 February, 2023 by Michael G. Reccia

A new series examining aspects of spiritual life you may not have considered before.

Part Six: ‘Uninvited passengers’ – and what to do about them (continued…)

(Author’s note – This time we commence our continuing examination of the unseen negative forces we can all at times fall foul of without us being consciously aware of their existence and effect on us with some practical advice from Joseph concerning the ’feeders’ we began to cover last time and what you can do to rid yourself of them [taken from a far more detailed chapter on this subject in his book The Spaces Between]. If you haven’t read the initial part of this article – Insights and Inspirations Part Five – I highly recommend you do so to bring yourself up to speed on the topics this instalment will cover before continuing here).

Joseph:

“Well, first of all, we have to go back to the state of meditation. It is so important that you meditate daily and take yourself out of the ‘fast lane’ of this life and spend some time reviewing the state that you are in – not just physically but spiritually. In meditation, you come to a point where you can determine whether the thoughts that you are having and your predominant feelings and moods are solely yours, are partially yours or belong to something else. And, at that point, in daily meditation you will also be able to see with your third eye the feeders attached to you and where they are. You will sometimes feel a tightness across the throat that signifies that one of their tentacles has connected itself there; or you will feel a heaviness across the forehead, as though you are wearing a hat, which denotes that there is a connection to a feeder at that point; and there are various other points across the body.

“Having determined that you are ‘not alone’, as it were, and are providing a ‘tasty snack’ for some of these beings, you then have to deal with them. The most efficient way to deal with them is to use the action of your physical hands and arms and to see yourself pulling away the feeder from the point at which it has attached itself to you. If you reach out with your psychic senses, you will feel the width, breadth, and form of the feeder, and you can put your hands around it and then gently draw it away from the chakra. As you do so, you will normally notice that the main body of the feeder is not the only aspect of it but that there are tentacles attached to the chakra in question. Keep pulling outwards from your body until you feel that you have moved the feeder far enough away from your body so that the connection to your chakra detaches.

“…And at that point you find yourself with hands full of feeder!

“You have got the being away from you in that it is not drawing energy anymore, but you have not dealt with it and it is still there.

“So, now hold it and use your ability, as an angelic child connected to God, to put Light into it – not the low level of vibration that it has been attached to you by and feeding from, but a higher level… White Light… God-Light. See, in your mind’s eye, the God-Light infusing that feeder and see the feeder becoming lighter and lighter and lighter. Then, there will come a point at which you will feel the weight in your hands dissipate and you will feel the feeder disappear. You will feel it disintegrate, as it were, into the White Light and it will, most certainly, be disconnected from you so that it can no longer connect to you and you are of no use to it.

“This exercise should be done at least once a week and should certainly be done whenever you feel that your mood has suddenly changed and there is no apparent reason for it – if you wake up depressed or fearful, for example, for no apparent reason and you didn’t go to sleep with that weight upon you.

“As with all physical life here the feeder has a need to exist, and remember that you have partially created it. So, there is a responsibility (even to these feeders that you could call ‘psychic ticks’ that connect to people) to restore this Earth to a balance of vibration that excludes that type of sentience being formed.

“As I have said, the feeders are a coalescing of your fears and worries and your aches and pains, but they are also a pocket of expression from the Field, which is set to negative (as we have discussed in previous books). It is as though the Field is using that analogy of the pincushion that I gave you in an earlier chapter and putting out aspects of itself that are partially sentient and partially aware. And so, you can regard feeders as little pinpoints of coalesced Field-energy that are having a high old time by connecting to you… but the irony is that they were created by you in the first place – as was the Field of consciousness. So, we are back to the project that I have given you from the beginning of these books which is the need to project Light into the Field; and also not to be disturbed if you find yourself connected to a feeder or ‘psychic tick’ but to love it away and to love the Field away through the projection of Light.

“In your dealings with people, be aware that when they react badly to you oftentimes it is because they too have unseen ‘guests’ feeding at the ‘table’ of their spiritual and psychic energy. And so, in dealing with people in a potentially explosive situation where there could be an argument or worse, before your meeting with these people or at the time when they are acting unreasonably, project enough Light to surround them and infuse their bodies with Light so that their ticks dissipate. The feeders can only connect to a low level of energy. When you are depressed… when you are fearful… when you are worried… when you are ill, the amount of Light you exhibit is shrouded, is shadowed and becomes darker and greyer – and it is that Light that allows the feeders and ticks to maintain themselves. They cannot cope with a higher level of spiritual energy.“

– I regularly check myself for such ‘attachments’ and, if I find any, deal with them as Joseph recommends above.

clear glass window with brown and white wooden frame

Now… thus far in this mini-series of articles we’ve looked at the ability of certain discarnate spirits who have not yet moved on from the earth plane to connect with souls still in the body, encouraging their ‘victims’ to indulge in physical excesses and, as a consequence of doing so, to unknowingly permit their ‘unwanted passengers’ to vicariously re-experience earthly pleasures. I’ve also examined the phenomena of ‘feeders’, semi-sentient thought forms capable of attaching themselves to a person’s energy centres and keeping their host in a depleted state of being in order to gorge themselves with ‘watered down’ spiritual energies that allow them to survive and maintain their existence…

In doing so I seem to have painted quite a bleak and scary picture of the unseen world around us, don’t I? My intention, however, has not been to frighten you but to empower you to ‘read the signs’ and take positive action should you ever feel you are under attack from the negative forces Joseph and I have described to this point. Forewarned is forearmed, and in recognising the ‘symptoms’, either in yourself or in others, from now on you will be able to reach into your ‘spiritual medical cabinet’ whenever necessary to bring out and apply appropriate and effective cures. ‘But Michael’, you are no doubt screaming in frustration by this point, Joseph has told us what to do about feeders, but you haven’t provided us with a single cure yet!’ I will shortly, Dear Reader, I promise, but I first needed to furnish you with a comprehensive list of the negative influences that can impinge on you. Talking of which, there’s one more phenomenon I must add to that list, and it’s one you will likely be very familiar with as most of us encounter it on a regular basis. Let me ask you this: How often have you begun your day bright, breezy, and upbeat only to meet up with a friend, family member or work colleague and then, following that connection, find yourself feeling absolutely dreadful… drained… tired… listless… ill?

You’re no doubt familiar with the term ‘psychic vampire’. It’s often used to describe those individuals who, when we’re in their presence, seem to have an uncanny knack of making us feel as though we’re losing the will to live. They seem to somehow drain the life essence out of us whenever we’re with them… sometimes even when we’re only in contact with them via our phones. In fact, and almost always unknown to them, that’s exactly what they’re doing. Usually, it’s because such individuals have an urgent need for life-force energy. For a variety of reasons, they’re burning up more spiritual energy than they are personally capable of generating and maintaining, so each time they connect with you they automatically siphon off some of yours. In almost all cases they’re completely unaware consciously that they’re doing this, but as a needy spirit they take the opportunity on a subconscious level to top themselves up, using you as a convenient ‘filling station’ whenever you come into contact with them.

What to do in such circumstances?

Often these individuals are friends and family members – there’s no way we would seek to shun them, but how can we stop them leaving us feeling so depleted? Silver Star, a key communicator from Joseph’s soul group, once recommended that I place myself, using my imagination, in a transparent silver ‘bell jar’ construct which I should see forming around my head then descending around my body and tucking under my feet to provide all-round protection should I think it likely that I’m about to find myself in situations where my energy could be siphoned off, and to do this before encountering such situations or connecting with a person/persons known to have a detrimental, draining effect on my being.

We can’t always be prepared in advance, of course, as we are often dropped into circumstances we have no way of anticipating ahead of schedule, and as a result we sometimes discover – too late – that we are suddenly in the presence of a someone or ‘someones’ with a need for the spiritual energy we can unwittingly provide them with.

In such cases a damage limitation, exercise is the quickest way to re-establish our spiritual equilibrium and prevent any further ‘leakage’. The ‘bell jar’ image can, of course, be rapidly deployed around you at any stage during your interaction with an energy-drainer to stop further life force being taken from you, with you in your mind’s eye then flooding the ‘inside space’ between the interior of the jar and you at its centre with restorative gold light. Then, once your unfortunate encounter is over, you can head straight for the nearest sink. Turn on the cold-water tap, run the water with some force, and hold your wrists under the vigorous flow. You will feel life force energy streaming back into your body. Also splash/sprinkle/flick drops of water over the crown of your head, and in a downwards, cutting motion across your brow and heart centre with your fingertips whilst affirming that any connection that has been made has just been severed. As you do this also mentally run through your principal chakras and systematically close and seal each one (safely opening and closing the chakras is explained and demonstrated in my free Higher Consciousness Living course – Module 1 Part 5).

And once again at this point I’ve run out of available space. I rather suspected this involved subject would require three segments to do it justice. Next time, in the concluding part, I’ll offer and explain more techniques to help you maintain spiritual balance and to keep yourself safe from ‘unwanted passengers’ and negative unseen forces.

Thank you for your patience and I do hope you’ll join me then.

Insights and Inspirations 5: ‘Uninvited passengers’ – and what to do about them

15 February, 2023 by Michael G. Reccia

A new series examining aspects of spiritual life you may not have considered before.

Part Five: ‘Uninvited passengers’ – and what to do about them

(Author’s note: the following was originally intended to be a one-part article, but in the writing of it it quickly became apparent that there was far too much information to shoehorn into the confines of a single piece. This, therefore, is the first part of a two-part [or will that prove to be a three-part?] article, as I owe it to you to do the subject justice and provide you with sufficient insights and techniques for your protection and wellbeing. I do hope you’ll join me next time, as the second instalment will offer practical advice on breaking links with the ‘uninvited passengers’ of the title.)

It’s a funny old physical world… Funny in that most souls, whilst here, are almost completely locked into their physicality, into that confined and limiting partial expression of what they truly are, relying totally on their five physical senses to interpret and navigate the seemingly immutable ‘reality’ they find themselves immersed in. Human beings, for the most part, choose to be either completely unaware of or, worse still, arrogantly dismissive of any suggestion that there just might be other dimensions permeating this one and (usually) existing outside the reach of their physical senses – dimensions which are nevertheless capable of impacting on them in many ways, whether they happen to believe in their existence or not.

Many of the influencers working to reach us and forge a connection with us from those vibrations are beneficial and positive, a shining example of this being the information and guidance offered by Joseph and his enlightened soul group as they endeavour, in love, to provide us with a way out of our current challenges and to reintroduce a spiritual perspective to our world. …However, just as there are positive and negative approaches to life on Earth, there are also darker aspects of non-corporeal reality that spiritual seekers need to be aware of and forearmed against, allowing them to recognise and swiftly deal with these should they attempt to impact their lives in less than helpful ways.

The current chaotic state of our world notwithstanding, indications that those unseen but highly seductive negative dimensions exist (and that we subconsciously recognise them) regularly filter down to us via the imaginings of authors and scriptwriters as ‘fictional’ themes – as staple ‘fantasy’ fare in our literature, our films and our television series, where depictions of the afterlife, of visitations by discarnate spirts, of haunted houses and disturbed locations, of magical powers, of the ‘possession’ of minds and personalities, of ‘monsters’, etc, can be safely viewed from the comfort of our armchairs through gaps in our fingers as we cover our eyes in horror whilst simultaneously seeking a thrill, an adrenalin rush, a temporary scare from our entertainment. After all, we’re only watching/reading a story …a fantasy… right? It’s frightening, yes. It’s disturbing, certainly, but it’s only fiction… a far cry from being based in fact and nothing whatsoever to do with the workings of the ‘real world’.

From a spiritual perspective, however, many of those negative imaginings have some basis in fact. No man or woman is an island. As spirit beings, as facets of the Whole, we are connected to each other, a part of each other, and as such each day of our lives each of us contributes to the collective field of human consciousness that shapes and determines our experience here by feeding back to us – surrounding us with – a construct of ‘reality’ that is based on our dominant beliefs, passions and wants. We each help to create, maintain and reinforce the global status quo via our daily vibrational donations as individuals to that field. Equally important, each of us is also the recipient of impressions from that field, and from the dimensions that lie beyond it too, and as a result we sometimes unknowingly take on board unseen discarnate ‘passengers’ as we travel through life… passengers with an agenda …passengers actively seeking to affect our mood, our energies and our ability to ‘think straight’ in specific ways.

For example, not every human spirit automatically moves on to higher spheres of consciousness following its physical death. ‘Devils’ in this life don’t suddenly become ‘Angels’ in the next, and until they can be persuaded to leave the earthly experience behind, certain individuals stubbornly refuse to do so, preferring to stay close to the pleasures and vices they have enjoyed whilst in a physical body, and discovering to their delight that they can re-experience some of those pleasures by pressing themselves against the auric fields of those who are still in physicality and who indulge in similar pursuits. Not only that, but in connecting in this manner with such incarnated souls psychically, they realise that they can persuade them to indulge in those pursuits more frequently and more intensely than they might have done before they connected with and began to influence them.

As a hypothetical case, a heavy drinker might suddenly find themselves more-than-usually drawn to their favourite tipple as a result of the promptings of an unseen ‘passenger’, and of the seductive voice of that individual repeatedly whispering in their ear: ‘Go on! You know you want to! Have another drink. You’ll feel so much better! Go on. Have that drink now…’ They don’t ‘hear’ that disembodied voice consciously, of course, but on a subconscious level it is a loud, clear and compulsive contributor to their actions and desires.

In hitching an unseen ride, such ‘passengers’ create a vicious circle of desire and action. In this hypothetical case the need for a drink becomes an increasingly dominant vibration in the person’s aura as a result of an unseen passenger’s promptings, which in turn strengthens the spirit’s ability to influence that person and to therefore relive a portion of their earthly experience – in this case the sensual ‘high’ of imbibing, by proxy, excessive amounts of alcohol (or drugs, cigarettes, and so on).

In contrast, one may exhibit no self-destructive habits or tendencies whatsoever but perhaps be subject to occasional bouts of depression, worry and stress, and because all vibrations automatically seek out, lock onto and draw towards themselves energies of a similar frequency, such energy-draining states of mind can attract discarnate spirits who are of a similar outlook, who have not yet moved on, and who become linked to us because of our current state of being, intensifying our negative experiences and making it more difficult for us to rise above them.

On a non-human level of interference and unseen influence, and returning to the theme of ‘it’s a funny old world’ for a moment, as souls seeking to gain greater spiritual awareness and understanding we need to be aware that our thoughts not only feed and influence the field of human consciousness but are also highly creative energies, with repeating negative thoughts and themes sometimes leading to the creation of semi-sentient ‘thought forms’ around us, which can affect and steer us just as effectively as the discarnate human-spirit passengers mentioned in the above paragraphs. The intent of these ‘creatures’ is to survive – and they do this by keeping you in a depleted state so that they can draw Light-energy from you at a level that they can absorb and which sustains them. And you, personally, needn’t be the creator of these pesky little tykes – if you are experiencing periods of low energy and outlook they can simply ‘hop on board’ from the ether or from some other person and seek to maintain you in that depleted state of being.

Here’s Joseph on the subject of these ‘feeders;’ as he terms them (taken from a fuller examination of the subject in his book The Spaces Between). I’ll conclude his explanation in the next part of this article, and I’ll also explore this subject further and suggest ways in which you can keep yourself protected, on track spiritually and physically, elevated vibrationally, and can avoid and/or detach ‘uninvited passengers’.

Joseph:

“Their need is to amplify your fear …to amplify your depression …to amplify your illness …to amplify your negativity …to amplify your anger. Now, in order to do those things and to exist as what they are, they have to have a source of energy.

“…And the source of energy, dear Reader, is you and people like you.

“For example, if you are depressed for any length of time – be it through illness or circumstance – then you emit a vibration at a lower level of energy than you usually do as the angelic being that you are in full health. That vibration connects to and attracts feeders of equal vibration. They are attracted to your Light – not as a fully conscious thing but as a magnetic attraction with a limited degree of sentience. They then attach themselves to you. If you were to look at these beings, you would see that some of them have tentacles and some of them appear to be like a slug that is grey or black in colour with a changing form. But, they are able to latch on to a similar vibration (as all things do) so that they can take energy from that similar vibration.

“So, as an example, in your depression you will attract one or more of these feeders – these partially-formed, semi-sentient, embryonic angelic children – and they will subsequently attach themselves to the point on your etheric body from which they can draw the most energy. That is usually one of the major chakra points, and you will find that they attach themselves to your forehead, to your throat, to your heart-centre or to your solar plexus. They will magnetically connect to you and, from that point onwards in order to draw the low level of energy that they need to maintain themselves and to survive, it is in their interest to keep you (in this example) depressed and to keep you at that lower level of energy, because a higher level of energy is of no use to them. A higher level of energy does not feed them; it is ‘above them’, so to speak, and they cannot connect to it. So, they keep you focussed on that lower level of energy so that you can maintain them and they can maintain you in that state of mind, and on and on goes the cycle.

“What to do about these beings? What to do about feeders? How do you, first of all, detect that they are there, and how do you detach yourself from them and they from you?”

Joseph’s advice on how to do this will head-up the next instalment of this article. Please join me for his concluding insights on the subject of ‘feeders’ and for further information from me regarding ‘uninvited passengers’ and what you can do about them.

Insights and Inspirations 4: The slow but steady decline of spiritual awareness

8 February, 2023 by Michael G. Reccia

A new series examining aspects of spiritual life you may not have considered before.

Part Four: The slow but steady decline of spiritual awareness

Concept by Michael G. Reccia and R. Jane Kneen.

One might assume that the countless material and technical advances humanity has made as it has ‘evolved’ through the ages to the present day have contributed much that is positive and vital to the wellbeing of all human souls on this planet. For example, generally speaking we are now infinitely more comfortable, better sheltered, wealthier, more able to communicate effectively across distance and to traverse that distance quickly and safely; privy to a year-round supply of a wide variety of life-sustaining and palette-pleasing foods from around the globe, and so on, than we have ever been in this current cycle of civilisation. From a spiritual standpoint, however, the intellectual and technical achievements of civilisation can also clearly be seen as the slow smotherer of spiritual consciousness and higher-consciousness-connection as the deification of the material increasingly blinds us to our Divine origins and capabilities… relentlessly distancing us from who and what we really are, clouding our true reasons for being here, denying us our rightful place in the scheme of things and ignoring our connection to all things.

To substantiate this claim, let’s hop into the ‘time machine’ and journey way back to a point in our ancient history at which modern science and academics would refer us as being ‘primitives’. ‘Primitive’ we may have been when compared to the academic ‘accomplishments’ and material opulence of the modern world, but at that time, having, in terms of the Akashic history of this world, only ‘recently’ begun to revisit the Earth as spirits in physical form following the most recent ‘Fall’ of civilisation (for a complete explanation of this cataclysmic cyclic event and its origins I would strongly recommend you refer to Joseph’s landmark book the Fall) we also, as ‘innocents abroad’ as it were, unpolluted by yet-to-unfold millennia of complexity and overthinking, happened to have a far better equipped spiritual toolbox than any 21st-century human does. We were, compared to ‘today’s model’ of the human being, infinitely more in tune with ourselves and our non-corporeal origins, with our true nature and with the natural world around us. Consider that we were capable of conscious communication with deva spirits; we acknowledged the rhythms of the Earth and lived and worked in harmony with those cycles; we established and revered sacred spaces… and community and family – the strength and value of the tribe – were recognised as vital factors that allowed us to survive and to thrive.

Crucially, there was a far more active connection to our heart-minds in that distant-past era and, as a result, to opportunities, taken by activating that built-in spiritual interface, to explore and maintain a real-time link to the Divine and to seek, obtain, trust and rely on spiritual inspiration and guidance from within. Further, and while understanding it was not the be-all-and-end-all, we embraced our physicality more consciously… our head-minds – those fight or flight computers in our skulls – being gainfully occupied by the concerns of our day-to-day survival. The head-mind had not yet appointed itself as the ruler supreme of our physical consciousness; had not yet taken over from the heart as the prime focus of our being and the prime motivator of our actions.

Next, our personal connection to the Divine, already struggling to maintain itself having been severely weakened and clouded due to the effects of the Fall, was muddied even further as organised religions became more established and grew increasingly complex and power-hungry, many of them vigorously enforcing the man-made dictate that a holy ‘go-between’ was essential in presenting the concerns and requests of the individual to the Divine. Slowly but surely individual and community-based reliance on the God-within began to wane as religions grew in influence, a percentage of them actively discouraging their members from examining – or even daring to think about – the greater mysteries for themselves, simultaneously marking out strict mental parameters for their flocks to adhere to and to be confined within, the penalty for not doing so being exclusion from their religion, from society and from heaven – and/or worse.

In relatively modern times – the past few decades up to the present – the new religion of ‘convenience’ has further distanced us from our spiritual origins, blossoming at an alarming rate during the past handful of decades from that seed first planted at the time of the industrial revolution which introduced us to a brave new world offering us commodities we previously didn’t know we needed and comforts we previously didn’t realise were lacking in our lives; a shift in core aspiration that has moved us even further away from spiritual contemplation and into an ever deeper focus on the material. The natural world and our connection to it has increasingly taken a back seat, with us concentrating instead on getting our hands on the next shiny bauble; on that must-have acquisition that promises so much yet can deliver only a sudden but temporary high – a transient rush of contentment that leaves us panting for more.

As we journey back to the here and now – today – we discover the final misstep in the process of allowing ourselves to be incrementally divorced from the spiritual. The gravest threat to maintaining that essential connection to our spiritual roots in this cycle is snapping at our heels at this very moment, with many of us completely unaware of it or choosing to ignore it as we opt for ultimate convenience and non-thinking ease in all aspects of our lives.

We shop online rather than visiting a store. So convenient. We wave our cards over readers rather than choosing to punch in our PIN numbers, themselves once regarded as a convenience when compared to those oh-so-troublesome bank notes we used to carry around and had to heft out of our pockets and wallets with great physical effort. We are willingly handing over ‘menial’ tasks, and many not-so-menial ones, such as the blessing of actually being able to think, reason and form moral opinions, to our AI systems, trusting in the unfeeling machines we have created to take the decisions big and small we would hitherto have taken for ourselves as individuals.

Unable to look away we gaze enrapt into our mobile phones and other devices day and night, ignoring the beauty and potential of the world around us… the world that is also a living, feeling spirit; the world that we are here to interact with and which, through its generosity and patience, supports and maintains our physicality…for now. We are even planning to surgically implant chips into our God-given brains to dispense entirely with the inconvenience of the decision-making process. These procedures are already being hyped and touted as ‘enhancing the human being to the next level’. Hmmm – could it possibly be, seeing as how we were designed by the Divine, that our quest to improve on the already-perfect is not only ill-advised, but also highly foolish and dangerous?

So – here we stand. We have arrived at a pivotal point in our history where, step by step, we have all but eradicated our ability to think, to examine logically, to reach out with our hearts, to consider anything greater and ‘wiser’ than ourselves. We‘ve done this willingly and naively as a global society. IF we take the final step, blending ourselves with our machines and handing over our spiritual sovereignty to them, the disconnect with our earthly raison d’être will be complete and absolute – and at that point the brutal truth is that there will no longer be any reason for us, as spirits, to incarnate here.

Humanity teeters at the edge of the precipice. The path we tread over the next few years – perhaps over the next few months – will either reestablish and reinforce our spiritual roots, leading to a reinvigorated society that has much in common with that of our ‘primitive’ ancestors, or one in which we face a Godless, and perhaps mercifully short, future as mindless worshippers of technology and materiality, unthinking slaves of convenience always choosing what is easy for us over what is good and right and harmonious and spiritually-based, permanently disconnected from our greater selves, our greater purpose and the bigger picture.

The key to ensuring this does not happen lies in keeping our heart connection alive and strong, recognising and applying a greater power, a higher energy, to our lives and having the strength and moral fortitude to say NO to and reject anything that could cause our moral compass to fail and us, as a result, to become shipwrecked on the rocky, treacherous reefs of rampant materialism and inflexible head-mind thinking.

To conclude, and to contrast with our current ‘civilised’ lack of spirituality, allow me to return you to that time when we would be regarded from today’s standpoint as ‘primitives’, and in doing so to illustrate just how advanced, how spiritually-minded we were then with a trio of short excerpts – truly beautiful words – taken from addresses given to us by the soul group member we respectfully refer to as ‘The Aboriginal Gentleman’ (featured in the book Many Voices, One Mission).

‘We understood about the ‘secret places’ of the world, and to us they were not secret because at that time we communicated with the Earth. We spoke to the Earth, and we knew there were places where you could talk to the spirits of the Earth and that the spirits of the Earth and the Earth itself would speak back … would tell us if it was happy …what was wrong with it …and what we could do to restore a balance and to ensure that energies flowed as they were supposed to flow.’

‘We were aware of the nature spirits and the great devas, and would commune with them. We would ask them if they would take care of our crops and our animals. They would, when we were not directly speaking to them in the sacred places, talk to us through our animals and inform us of anything they wished to communicate to us. So, it was quite natural for us to commune with the planet and with the planetary forces that sustained the planet in a state of equilibrium.’

‘…And nature was our byword and the yardstick by which we lived because everything we did was designed not to disturb nature – not to disturb the natural path of the evolving planet that would sing to us. And the devas would sing to us and show us, in the dreamtime, a picture of the destiny of the Earth and of the evolution of the planet, the solar system and the heavens.’

…I think you’ll agree it’s high time we worked together to regain so much that we have lost … high time we re-established a spiritual approach to our lives, to each other and to our world.
